Chimney Choir
Chimney Choir combines folk harmonies, ambient electronics, and swirling textures of rhythm and melody into a style of music that is not easy to define. They began in 2011 with a guitar, banjo, mandolin, and suitcase drum and have since toured the country extensively, recorded and released five recordings, and developed layers of electronics, live looping, and percussion. They still remain fascinated with folk music and traditions while they constantly evolve and experiment - their performances often take on a theatrical quality that has incorporated puppetry, ritual, dance, storytelling, interactive video and even a sci-fi mini-drama. Their newest album, "(dream)" was released November 2016.
"Chimney Choir has never been a conventional band. Its songwriting has roots in Americana and pop, but it’s informed by an avant-garde sensibility, so that any musical idea or offbeat concept could be incorporated at will. Albums and shows reveal the group’s conceptual and theatrical side: Its last album-release performance was part concert, part game show, and included audience participation. Another album-release show took place in an architectural warehouse, and the performance was a kind of treasure hunt...the group reliably offers up high-concept, often interactive experiences. '(dream)'finds Chimney Choir in fine form, with its signature mix of Americana and ambient soundscapes resulting in thought-provoking pop songs. The new tracks aim for a commercial sound without compromising that experimental edge." -Westword
“With a hearty electronic influence, the album is whimsical yet powerful, playful and self-aware.”- Denver Post
“...the album seamlessly blends folk instrumentals with electronic punches for a plucky, meandering ride.”- 5280

Bryan Connolly
Bryan Connolly was born both whimsical and bloodthirsty. Naturally this dichotomy led to a career in the circus. It began by learning to juggle from Jon Wee of the Passing Zone, and quickly escalated to acrobatics, stunt work, acting, dance, and worst of all, street theatre. By the time he received his Bachelor’s degree for Theatre Performance from Colorado State University, there was no turning back. He was committed to a life of circus. He has now performed in a plethora of circus shows with companies such as Rainbow Militia, Circus Foundry, Cirque Dreams, even toured with a professional jousting company for a while, and is the second-in-command at Knights of the Tempest.
Despise him if you must, but he will continue to find occasion to bewilder audiences far and wide.

Musician: Singer/Guitarist
Although his musical talents make it easy to believe he’s always been a full-time musician, Rob Drabkin attended Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, where he graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with the intention of becoming a doctor. His focus quickly changed after a family trip to New York. “My Dad played Jazz full time for 30 years before he got into medicine. On that trip, we re-connected with his old musician friends, and it was inspiring to see them giving their lives to music night after night for so many years. That was the night I dropped science and dedicated myself to music. After that moment, I spent every possible minute singing and honing all of the songwriting skills that I could.” He took to Denver’s music scene quickly, and set his career into motion. Drabkin’s newly released single, “Someday,” has earned a spot on major international Spotify playlists and in just a few months, the single accumulated over one million plays from listeners around the world. As Rob describes the song, ”we too often forget that love is ever-present. We share it with each other through laughter, smiles, and sympathy. We can find it in everything and we can also create it in the smallest, most unassuming moments of our lives.

Theatre has been a part of him his whole life. From being on stage to backstage, he has done it all. He went to a performing arts high school in Las Vegas where he emphasized in stage acting. After graduating in 2007, he moved to Colorado and went to the University of Northern Colorado and Majored in technological theatre with an emphasis in costume design and technology. In 2011, he graduated and was offered a costume assistant job in Florida for Walt Disney world. While working in a high energy and demanding position, he found a gym that offered aerial arts and feel in love with it. He spent a majority of his free time training and becoming better as an aerialist while working for Disney as well as Universal Orlando as a stunt man. Then after three years working at Disney, he decided that he wanted to switch from costumes to character. In 2015 he became a character performer for Disney and quickly gained many rolls and parts in very large Disney productions. While doing so, he was apart of a local aerial performing group call suspended Artestry and performed a variety of aerial acts. That journey then pushed him towards another amazing local troop called Phantasmigoria where he did not only aerial pieces but also acting and atmosphere performances for conventions and private parties. After some thought, he and his wife decided that it would be best to move back to Colorado to be closer to family.

Mikey Smith
Musician: Pianist
Mikey Smith likes music that is pretty but not too pretty. From the moment that he first heard Bill Evans at the age of 18, Mikey knew that the piano would become a central part of his life. He has since toured internationally, played for sold out crowds, and performed with some of the top performance companies in the world.
Mikey’s music splashes canvases of minimal classical textures with dashes of harmonic color. He is as inspired by Phillip Glass as by Brad Mehldau. Alongside his originals, Mikey like to play pieces from the modern classical repetoire, the Beatles, and Thelonious Monk.
In addition to his piano music, Mikey composes music for film, television, dance, video games, and commercial media, and makes electronic music under the name Particle Parade.
Russick Smith
Musician: Cello
Russick Smith’s music is steeped in the emotional remnants of his motley, spirited adventures. With a technical foundation in cello, electric bass, and audio engineering, the multi-instrumentalist walks between sentimental acoustic arrangements and modern electronic landscapes drawing inspiration from artists such as Air and Edgar Meyer. Seeking to “fight cynicism with wonder,” Smith engages audiences by searching out non-traditional roles and locations for his music and performances, from the middle of a river to noisy rock venues to ancient glacial caves. For his looping performance, Smith was awarded “Best in Class” at the 2016 Vertex Musical Championships and winner of 2017 Breck’s Got Talent. He has additionally appeared as Timekeeper with The Moth Mainstage, as presenter at the Colorado Music Convergence, been featured on KDVR Denver’s “Everyday” show, and will be appearing next summer in a national campaign for the Colorado Tourism Office. Smith currently hosts a weekly music development group in Breckenridge and is finishing recording on an album of quintets due in 2018.

Jennifer Thies
Aerialist: Aerial Sling
Jennifer began her love affair with aerial silks during her last semester of college in 2007. Though she graduated with a degree in architecture and worked in architecture for around a decade, she immediately made room for aerial. She’s only more recently begun cheating on her silks with lyra, rope and sling. And maybe a one-afternoon stand with a trapeze, once. Her training began in Boulder with Cathy Gauch at Aircat Aerial Arts, and has included brief moments of training with a number of gifted aerialists such as Fred Deb in La Baule, France, Cecile Magdeleine and Roman Bonaton of the Lido De Paris, and Cirque Du Soliel artist and stunt woman Petra Sprecher in LA. An artist by nature, she’s explored most mediums of art throughout her life, and aerial is no exception. After many performances including a Devotchka Halloween extravaganza at the Fillmore auditorium and multiple years with the MAX Holiday Fashion show, she opened and ran Relevé Aerial Dance Studio for 5 years before taking a sabbatical from the studio to focus on aerial creativity. A year of exploration down, Jennifer began to share her passion for silks and creativity again, and is currently teaching silks and sling at Gravity Aerial Arts, helping teach the Adult Professional Track program with Cirque Du Soleil veteran Jonathan Cole and MOTH artist and owner Deena Markum, and teaching one of her favorite invented classes “Innovative Aerials” at MOTH where aerial theory is fully and unabashedly explored. She has taught for numerous studios in Denver and given a number of workshops around the country, and continues to enjoy freelance performing around Denver!
